The world’s top makeup artists are looking at the beauty world through rose-coloured glasses this season. The limited edition makeup collections are awash in pink from fuchsia to pale blush…and every variation in between.
Lisa Eldridge, Lancome’s International Makeup Creator, is embracing the trend with a feminine and chic approach. She’s designed the brand’s spring collection called “Absolutely Rose” and it has been a blockbuster success already. The rose powder alone sold out in minutes in many countries. And the collector palette offers some of the easiest ways to pull off the pink look. Lisa even took a studied approach to the packaging using the same retro curves as the powder compacts of the 1950s. It brings an added touch of elegance to the bathroom or vanity table.
La Palette La Rose
This ultra-romantic case contains everything you need to create a tailored spring look. Lisa tested these colours on a range of skin tones to make sure they worked for a wide range of customers. You’ll find a bouquet of six eyeshadows in pop, pastel, tender and fresh shades. They were chosen to work together so you can layer, blend or wear individually. For lips, there is a trio of colours: one super-shiny and two with a velvety texture. And you’ll notice there is a dual-ended brush for easy application.
La Rose a Poudrer
Each petal of this rose flower is imbued with pearlizers that instantly illuminate the skin. Lightly dust the forehead, bridge of the nose, top of the cheekbones, chin, neck and lower neckline. Face is instantly sculpted and illuminated.
This Parisian Kabuki brush was specially designed to pick up the exact right amount of illuminator in a simple gesture. And yes, there is a team in Lancome’s labs on the outskirts of Paris who studies and tests this type of thing.
Le Crayon Miracle
Le Crayon Miracle is a favourite of French Mademoiselles. It instantly brightens and highlights eyes. This season, it comes in a soft pink shade. Use it as an eyeliner of to rim the waterline of the eyes.
Parisian Lips Le Stylo
Create an ombre lip look with this duel-ended pen. The one end boasts a creamy, lightly tinted formula that moisturizes and illuminates. The second features an ingenious cushion that delivers the right amount of semi-matte pigment.
