Dior’s SkyLine

Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup has created his best makeup collection for the famed French fashion house to date. It’s sophisticated and modern and wearable. The inspiration came from the Eiffel Tower. You’ll notice that the architectural pattern on the two limited edition eye palettes mimics the design of the famous landmark in Paris. The first time I visited the city and saw the Eiffel Tower, I was stunned with how beautiful the design of columns are. It’s incredibly beautiful and intricate. Philips imagines the Dior woman visiting the tower in autumn and has created a makeup look in frosted beiges, reddened browns, coppery pinks and champagne hues. In homage to the Eiffel Tower, there are metallic accents. The finishing touch is chocolate-toned manicure.

Architect Palettes

Dior’s iconic 5 couleurs eyeshadow palettes reinterpret the architectural structure of the Eiffel Tower in a geometric lace-like design. Its two harmonies, capture light and shadow of the autumnal Parisian sky to redefine and exalt the eyes.

Pure blue and seasonal beiges radiate from a steel grey accent in the middle. Philips chose these colours so you could create a subtle look or bold impact depending on your mood and style. Blue and brown combinations are considered chic in Italian fashion. This is a sophisticated palette.

There is warmer harmony of colours in the Capital of Light palette. Luminescent browns surround a pink accent shade. Again, this is a very wearable palette than can be dressed up or down. Apply the shadows wet for added impact.

Here is an all-in-one brow product that combines the colour intensity of a pencil, the staying power of wax and a creamy texture for easy application. Choose from blond, ashen or deep brown to instantly define, groom and fill in brows. You can instantly intensify the shape of the eyebrow.

This featherlight powder is highly concentrated with illuminating pigments in a universal shade that can be adapted to any skin tone. Apply it in gentle touches to highlight the areas of the face that naturally catch the light. You can even use a little for an overall radiant look.

One of the biggest catwalk beauty trends of the past decade has been contouring. Inspired by fashion photo shoots, this double ended sculpting stick offers contrasting finishes to combine highlighting with shaping and shading. Lines or dots are first drawn on the skin using the matte contouring side to create a shading effect on the chin, the hollows of the cheeks and temples up to the top of the forehead to refine the shape of the face. These contours are then blended with a sponge or brush before the radiance of the complexion is revived by applying the shimmery highlighter side on the prominent areas of the face – on the upper cheekbones and upper lip. This adds volume, erases flaws and reshapes the contours of the face.
