When it comes to runway makeup artistry, you expect to hear the names MAC, NARS, and Bobbi Brown. Those brands have been working backstage during Fashion Weeks in Paris, Milan, London and New York for years. Most recently, Giorgio Armani and Burberry have started offering limited edition collections that allow you recreate the models’ beauty looks from the show. But there is a new beauty player in Paris Fashion Week and it may come as a surprise: Clarins. Few know that the French beauty brand owns the Mugler fashion label as well as the fragrance division. So it made perfect sense to have Clarins’ International Makeup Artist Eric Antoniotti collaborate with Mugler designer David Koma for the bi-annual catwalk shows in Paris. It’s a partnership that will receive more attention in the coming months.
Mugler Fall 2016 runway show
Mugler’s fall fashion collection is called “Sunset in Savannah” and it is streamlined and youthful. What I admire about David Koma’s designs is his masterly of silhouette and proportion. He is a master at understanding how to balance shape and silhouette.

The show was staged at the Grand Palais in Paris with both Eric Antoniotti and Sally Branka overseeing the makeup. They created two nude looks and one orange design. The base for all the looks was a natural complexion and glowing skin using both Multi-Active Cream and True Radiance Foundation, applied using the Clarins spa-inspired method. The eyes were dressed in brown shades using the 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Brown. Lashes were coated in Be Long Mascara in Intense Black.

I’m giving you an exclusive sneak peek at Clarins’ Spring 17 collection with this orange eyeshadow placed on the inner corner of the eyes. You’ll see that arrive on counters in early 2017. It’s just the right amount of colour to create an accent but still be subtle enough to wear in real life.
Eric Antoniotti completes a Mugler model beauty look
This is the model look for Clarins’ Fall Look and Eric has dialled up the intensity. The entire focus is on the eyes thanks to the new Supra Volume Mascara. It promises a double volume effect that thickens lashes and helps protect them with skincare ingredients. The formula is enriched with cassie flower and carnauba waxes and comes in black and brown.

For those who love neutral eye palettes, Clarins continues to offer some of the best shades. What I like about these palettes is they include skin care ingredients that pamper skin while offering good colour. Use them dry for a neutral effect or wet for evening drama.
